Opening Weekend – November 2021…
The 1st split weekend brought some good weather and everyone seemed like they were in good spirits. Especially Coop.
Trey had a good time despite running into these attack birds. Worry not, he was victorious in battle.
The 1st morning out Trey, Carl and Coop defended the Boxcar Blind.
On Sunday morning Trey took Oliver and John to the Boxcar blind to check the local population of Atkins Teal. There were many as well as some Teal, Wood Ducks and Mallards. Geese were heard but not seen. The weather was much warmer than Saturday, with the temp at sunrise around 60.
Monday was a scaled down version of hunters with Trey and Sutton doing their best at the Hog Waller and Big & Lil Coop holding down the fort at Boxcar Blind.
Trey and Sutton ended up with a real mixed bag and Lil Coop ended up with a few birds and some extra water in his waders. He will be back once they dry out.

Camouflage Elevated
The original look was somewhat bright in our estimation.
Steps were taken to subvert the overall luminance of the offending lumber.
Only time will tell the following:
- Does this pattern seem natural from above?
- Does the paint prevent the water from rotting this old lumber?
- Does beginner level slipshod carpentry remain sound for several months?
- Is that water cold if you fall in?
